Cost Management Mindset

Thinking Client Value

When staff are busy being busy, it is important to stop and focus on value. A 'cost management mindset' motivates staff, when incurring cost (labour and/or goods/services), to ask themselves:

If it were my money would I
'spend / view / do / waste
it' that way?

  1. Do MY actions in incurring cost this way add value for the client?
  2. Is MY focus on the outcome acknowledging my link within the Value Chain?

A cost management mindset, ingrained into organisational culture, powerfully:
  • delivers increased customer value;
  • motivates staff to continuous improvement;
  • improves profitability by eliminating waste; and
  • manufactures profit.

Ultimately, a cost management mindset is a proven path to competitive advantage.
